Ben Gubb - Greenscape
The subject matter of my work often shifts between people and places or landscapes. My aim with each work is to evoke a sense of atmosphere or feeling. With the figurative work I am interested in depicting the interaction of people in different situations, often inspired from watching people queuing at bus-stops or sitting at tables carrying out everyday tasks. However, when making a painting of a landscape it is the space and subtlety of colour that inspires me. Most of my work is developed from drawings and photographs taken whilst traveling from place to place.
