Kari Manley - The Nutcracker
Californian born Kari Manley completed a Fine Arts Degree in Cardiff several years ago and through the 2000’s her work moved towards figures, usually against Welsh landscape. Two years ago the artist began a new collection of work , of figures based on dance and here she creates a narrative to appeal to a contemporary audience in the dance of ballet. She works in oil on canvas , using colourful paints and here taking inspiration from work by Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker’s Suite.
