Alice Perceval
Seasons and Dreams
17th June-6th July
Upper Gallery

A new collection of work by Australian-born artist Alice Perceval. The paintings are a development of her continuing preoccupation with Nature and the Imagination, exploring the relationship between the two and the elusive and intangible quality that inhabits the space where they overlap.

John Selway
14 Variations on the Crucifixion Theme
11th July - 1st August
Upper Gallery

In this exhibition the viewer will have an insight into the studies behind John Selways recent series dealing with the Crucifixion.

Honoured by many awards and a large retrospective last year at Newport Museum, John Selway has had a remarkable career as both a painter and a teacher and he has a strong influence on many of the most talented young artists working in Wales. His chosen themes are often difficult, routed in literature or exploring collective fears and joys of humanity.

The paintings are all used as a basis for Fourteen Variations on the theme of the Passion, large works which will be housed permanently at St Michael’s Church, Abertillery.
