9th 13th October
Writing and Art Workshop Exhibition
Lower Gallery
Susie Wilde, a published children's writer, from North Carolina, USA spent a week with children from Radnor Primary school in Cardiff, as part of the Washington Gallery's 2006/07 education outreach programme. The children were thrilled with her dynamic approach to writing by playing game after game and responded by producing two short stories within a week.
Working with two classes of year 5/6 pupils, she then collaborated with Cardiff artist, Heloise Godfrey, who worked with the children for a further week. Using collage and stamping techniques the children succeeded in bringing their stories to life in a visual form. One class produced individual handmade books and the other a large-scale mural. These will be exhibited in the lower gallery from 9th 13 October.
